Lah di dah, di dah di dum, ’tis Autumn (Autumn Pictures Part 1)

Happy official first day of fall! (…she wrote in her draft, thinking she actually would get this up on the first day of fall. Whoops.) I’m always excited for autumn. It’s one of my favorite seasons, and I’ve done a blog post celebrating it…I was going to say nearly every year since I began my blog, but looking at my archives has confirmed that I’ve put up an autumn-themed post every single year.

In the past couple years, my mom had the fun idea of our taking a picture of the trees behind our place every day of October, so we could see the progression of the leaves. This inspired me to attempt this year to take a picture of the trees every day of autumn. (And then I promptly missed the very first day. But I began on the first full day of fall, so that sort of kind of counts.)

In any case, I thought it might be fun to do a few blog posts throughout the fall, sharing these autumn pictures with you. And as you’ve probably deduced, I thought I would start posting them today.

September 23

Pretty green still, as you can see (though some leaves began falling from the trees almost exactly when the calendar decreed it autumn, which I enjoyed).

Also, every day so far except yesterday, I’ve managed to take footage of squirrels as well – I’ve begun keeping the camera by the back door, in fact, so that I can just take a picture or video through the glass window if I happen to glance out and see one. So I might as well share a daily squirrel picture/video screenshot too.

I’m not sure how much you can see it in the pictures, but we are getting some leaves turning already (as you can see from the title picture)…not too many yet though.

I also thought I’d share a vintage autumn song for each installment, just because Why Not. And since it is a rainy September day, today I’ll share “September in the Rain” by Frank Sinatra.

P.S. I’m very sorry I’ve been so terrible at blogging of late! It’s just been so busy that I really haven’t had time…as aforementioned, it took me almost a week just to write this (not exactly verbose) blog post. I’m really hoping to get more time for it, though, because I’ve missed you all!
