“If you will recollect, we are now in Autumn – season of mists and mellow fruitfulness.”

I’m realizing afresh this year how much I love autumn. I love the changing colors, I love that sort of clear brisk thingamajig in the air, I love the weather: beautifully refreshingly cool, but not cold – in short, I love the whole shebang.

So, to celebrate this lovely season, this post will be random things I love about autumn, with autumn aesthetics either pulled from Pinterest or snapped by yours truly.

covered bridge in autumn

~ I love the warm intermingling of the reds and yellows and oranges in the trees

~ I love the coziness of turning on the lights as the evenings get darker

cozy autumn aesthetic

~ I love that crisp, alert, indescribable, wonderful smell of autumn – pumpkin spice is great, but someone really needs to make a scented candle out of that smell

~ I love puttering around in the kitchen while listening to melancholy autumnal-sounding jazz, like this

~ I love the way the early morning sunlight filtering through the colorful leaves looks

sunny autumn morning

~ I love the knowledge that Christmas is only a couple months away

~ I love pulling out my autumn clothes and feeling like I just bought a whole new wardrobe

~ I love that lonely, clean tang in the breeze that you only get in autumn

sunny autumn day

~ I love pumpkins. We have one on our front step named Boris (yes, I named him, and no, he’s not named after anyone in particular. He just looks like a Boris)

~ I love autumn ambience videos, like this

~ I love vintage autumn pictures

~ I love the way it looks when colorful leaves fall lazily off the trees (except that’s also a little sad, because I don’t want the trees to lose their leaves)

But I mustn’t keep you here all day. You should be outside watching the sunlight filtering through the falling leaves and feeling an autumn breeze on your face while you listen to melancholy jazz. Pip-pip!
